trumpって動詞もあるんだ!!!! 

 trumpって名詞で「ばば抜き」や「神経衰弱」等で遊ぶトランプのことを意味する言葉だと思っていた。

でもニュースで「LOVE TRUMPS HATE」 というプラカードを見て、????と思った。Trumpへの 抗議集会／デモで掲げられていたのだ。「愛せよ　トランプ　憎しみを」。うーーーーーん、意味が通じない。

LOVEは名詞だったら「愛」、動詞だったら「愛する」だろうしHATEは「憎しみ」「憎む」だろうし。だったらTRUMPには別な意味があるのかも、と思ってネットで調べてみた。

名詞では、日本で言うトランプとか、切り札とか優れた人とかの意味があるようだが、動詞では「切り札を切る」とか「取って代わる」とかの意味を持つらしいのだ。

従って 「LOVE TRUMP HATE」は「愛は憎しみに取って代わる、愛は憎しみに勝る」とでも訳せるのではないか。勝るという言葉をwinやovercomeを使わずtrumpという言葉を使ったセンスに座布団1枚!!!
